Visa Information

Passport & VISA Information

Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before coming. But people of 99 countries who want to visit Korea temporarily are permitted to enter without a visa according to visa-exemption agreements, or in accordance with principles reciprocity or national interest.
  • Korea is a very safe country for tourists and a very good place for convention and conference.
  • Regarding with this, Korea has made visa waiver agreements with about 180 countries.
  • And also tourists who are not in visa-waived-countries, but directly enter into Jeju island, can stay 30 days without visa.

Currency & Credit card

• The Korean Won is the unit of Korean currency. Credit cards, e.g. VISA, Master Card, American Express and Diners Club, are widely accepted in most restaurants and hotels.

Electricity

• Outlets for 220 Volts are commonly available in hotels and other facilities in Korea. Please check the power supply before using equipment.

Tipping

• Tipping is not a traditional Korean custom. A 10% service charge is added to your bill at all tourist hotels and so tipping is not expected. It is not necessary to tip a taxi driver unless he assists you with luggage or provides an extra service.
